EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

I specialise in using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), which promotes the natural healing capacities within our body and minds.

EFT - also known simply as 'tapping' - is a practical body/mind self-help method which can be used to transform how we think about and respond to certain thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

It is a self-directed and non-invasive technique that involves gently tapping (using your own finger tips) on certain points on the head and upper torso whilst also bringing to mind the issue or experience that we want to work on.

The tapping points are access points to important neural pathways that relate to key physiological and emotional systems within our bodies. The combination of holding our intention about an issue whilst connecting to our bodies allows a gentle but effective shift in our experience of it.

EFT is very easy to learn and flexible enough to be used by anyone for any issue. It can be integrated into ongoing therapy as a very helpful and simple way of changing the thoughts and feelings associated with a number of emotional issues and physical conditions. I can also teach it to you so that you can use it to support yourself and bring relief whenever you need it.

  • All types of anxiety (including phobias, OCD, social anxiety)
  • Depression
  • Self-limiting beliefs
  • Reducing stress
  • Managing long-term health conditions
  • Childhood trauma/attachment issues
  • Fertility

    I am also trained in another energy psychology method called AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy) that I can integrate with EFT or normal talking therapy if requested.

    I use EFT on myself a lot in my life - in just a few minutes it helps me to re-frame a feeling or situation I am facing and ground myself again. I also often find that surprising insights come to me during or soon after the process, so it often has unexpected benefits! Along with yoga, I think EFT is one of the best things I have discovered and made the most of to enhance my well-being in my life.


  • How therapy and EFT can help a Highly Sensitive Person

    I have a particular interest in working with people who regard themselves as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

    Due to their enhanced depth of processing, HSPs tend to be more aware of and impacted by other people, emotions and their environment.

    Depending on how their sensitivity has been responded to in life, HSPs can often feel misunderstood and might feel shame and self-criticism about why they experience life and feel things so differently compared with others.

    Being able to talk about their personal story and have their feelings and sensitivity validated in therapy can be extremely helpful for HSPs to live fully and re-gain their self-confidence.

    EFT can be particularly helpful in successfully addressing any troubling thoughts, feelings, experiences and beliefs about being a sensitive person.
